Solid carbide drills are best for medium to high volume jobs, where the number of holes the drill will create can be counted. If you're only drilling a hole here and there, a solid carbide drill may not be the right tool for the job. In terms of tool life though, a solid carbide drill will far and away last longer than high speed steel or cobalt. This section features solid carbide drills both with and without coolant holes.
